who we are
unity and diversity
Asian Resource Center of San Antonio (ARCSA) is a Texas nonprofit corporation which was formed on September 11, 2023, exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (the “Code”). The primary purpose of ARCSA is to raise awareness about the rich cultural heritage of Asian Americans and to cultivate a strong sense of community in San Antonio. Our mission is to foster unity and celebrate diverse Asian cultures.
PROJECT
ASIAN CENTER
The ARCSA is leading the development of a multifunctional facility that consists of event space, food preparation area, and office and meeting spaces for exhibits, community meetings, workshops, training sessions, and classes. The center will blend modern aesthetics with traditional elements, showcasing Asian heritage through artwork and multimedia displays.
PROGRAMMING
educational, cultural, and social
In addition to developing a physical space, ARCSA seeks to provide educational, cultural, and social programming that affirms and celebrates Asian American cultures, identities, and values, as well as providing awareness about the diverse social, political, historical and cultural realities of the local communities. ARCSA also seeks to broaden and facilitate the channels of communication between Asian Americans and the broader community in San Antonio and Bexar County, and act as a resource for the citizens in San Antonio and Bexar County. Youth programs and workforce and economic development activities could also be part of future programming.
POSITIVE IMPACT
WE ARE ONE
We believe the Asian Center will have a positive impact on the local community as a whole. The Asian Center could serve as an important cultural hub, not only for the Asian community, but also for members of the community at large who may be interested in exploring and experiencing Asian cultures. The Asian Center could also play a crucial role in promoting cultural exchange and understanding, and it would provide a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the vibrant traditions and rich history of the Asian communities in Texas.
